28th Annual Softball Marathon Set for
August 10 - August 12, 2012

Taking place over a three-day period on baseball/softball fields throughout Blair County, we are currently recruiting teams to participate in the 28th Annual Softball Marathon to be held August 10, 11 and 12, 2012.

Softball Marathon is one of Easter Seals Central Pennsylvania’s largest team fundraising events.  This fun filled event is open to teams of 12-20 players who are given a 3-hour block of playing time at a local field.  The minimum registration fee for 12 players is $450 or $600 for 20 players.  Each team is given a certificate for one case of Coors Light and one case of water, and each player receives a complimentary Softball Marathon t-shirt.

A $50 pre-registration free is due within 7 days of reserving your playing time.  This money counts towards your team’s fundraising total.  All teams must raise the minimum registration fee to play and receive t-shirts and beverage certificate.

Teams compete to raise money and win prizes.  The top 3 fundraising teams will receive a trophy and prize package.  Ask family, friends, and co-workers for pledges to help support the many children and adults with special needs and disabilities that receive services through Easter Seals Central Pennsylvania.

Simply complete these steps to participate:

1. Assemble a team of 12 - 20 players that will be responsible for raising an entry fee of $450 for 12 players and $600 for 20 players.
2. Submit a completed registration form, along with a $50 pre-registration fee, and contact Patty Mallad at 814-283-2395 or pmallad@eastersealscentralpa.org  to schedule your team’s playing time.

Physical, occupational and speech therapy, sensory integration and autism resources are just a sampling of the programs and services Softball Marathon supports.  By taking part in our Softball Marathon or by making a donation, you will be helping area children and adults with disabilities and special needs get the services and therapies they need to perform activities that many take for granted, such as running to a base or cheering for a favorite sports team.

With each swing of your bat, you are helping Easter Seals clients achieve milestones in their lives.
